Ridgefield School of Dance Announces Summer Dance

Summer is just around the corner and so is Summer Dance. The Ridgefield School of Dance is once again offering its summer dance program for girls and boys aged 3 to 6-ish with two programs: Summer Sprites for 3-4-year-olds and Senior Sprites for 5-6-year-olds (and including those just turning 7).

Children embrace their creativity and fire up their imagination in a safe and supportive environment within a community of children their own age. The ballet studio is a wonderful place for children to focus, learn, and make friends.

Summer Sprites is tailored for the youngest of dancers, offering an introduction to ballet through creative movement, storytelling and improvising with colorful props while learning basic positions, musicality and etiquette.

For 5-6-year-olds, Senior Sprites is a fun way to spend time with others who are also new to dance or continuing ballet. Senior Sprites learn ballet basics as well as work on a dance of their own.

Summer and Senior Sprites are offered in three sessions, Tuesdays to Thursdays, July 6-8, 13-15, and 20-22 to keep weekends available for family travel. Summer Sprites (ages 3-4 boys and girls) will meet 9 to 10 am while Senior Sprites (ages 5-6+) will meet 10:15 to 11:30 am.

“For many, it is their first exposure to ballet and we hope sparks a lifelong passion for dance and the arts,” says executive director Alison Brown. “Miss Violeta specializes in teaching our youngest dancers and she harnesses their imagination with the physicality of dance.”

The Ridgefield School of Dance has not missed offering a summer session since it opened doors at 66 Grove Street in 2007. It is pleased to offer this fun opportunity for children to have a little “ballet time” before joining the school in September for the fall session
