Ridgefield Olympian Kieran Smith Finished 6th in 200 Free, Earns Bronze Medal in 400

Many Ridgefield residents were glued to their TV sets and smartphones last night eager to watch Kieran Smith compete in his second event at the Olympics in Tokyo. Kieran, your community is beyond proud of you! 

Making a splash at 9:43 pm, Ridgefield resident Kieran Smith competed in 200 free finals at the summer Olympic games in Tokyo. Smith, who won the bronze medalist for Team USA on Saturday evening, finished in 6th place last night with a time of  1:45.12.

Smith began swimming at the tender age of seven training at Ridgefield Aquatic Club under and now swims for the University of Florida Gators and believes his interest in open water events complements his competitiveness in the pool. He began swimming at age seven.
