Ridgefielders Bronze Bunny, a Family Heirloom, is Returned

More than a week after her family heirloom, a bronze bunny statue, went missing, Ridgefield resident Katie Rathmell says that handsome fellow has been returned unharmed.

"My neighbor walked by yesterday and saw a box on my front steps with no label, the bunny was inside!" Rathmell does not know who returned the bunny, but is beyond grateful. "You have no idea how much it means to me," she said.

It was August 8 when Rathmell offered some free items to the community and the bronze statue, not among the "free" items, was inadvertently taken from her Lincoln Lane driveway.

The statue belonged to her grandmother and then her mom, both of whom have passed away. "Please, please, help...I'm begging!" Rathmell wrote on social media the day the bunny went missing. She offered a $200 reward for the safe return of the family heirloom.

Hundreds of community members jumped into action, sharing Rathmell's social media post in hopes that the cherished statue would be returned.
