The Ridgefield Fire Department paid a visit to Ridgefield Community Kindergarten (RCK) Preschool during Fire Prevention Week.
Captain Rommie Duckworth and fellow firefighters took the 2’s class on a tour of the fire truck and ambulance showing them all of the equipment the firefighters use when they are called to an emergency.
One of the crew dressed up in full firefighter gear, and they showed the children the Jaws of Life.
The children also got to see the team in action as they were called to an emergency and quickly packed up and headed out with sirens blaring.
The RCK 3’s and 4’s took a field trip to the fire station where the firefighters slid down the pole to simulate how they get ready to leave the firehouse.
