Masterwork Music and Art Foundation Announces 2021-2022 Community Grant Awards Winners, including Ridgefield Prospector Theater

The Masterwork Music and Art Foundation, an arts nonprofit based in Morristown, NJ, is pleased to announce the winners of our Community Grant Awards for 2021-2022. The awardees are based in the tri-state area of NY, NJ and CT, and Masterwork is pleased to support the interaction of the arts and communities in this region.

Sparklevision, an app being developed by Ridgefield's  Prospector Theater has been awarded a $500 grant.

Dedicated to authentically representing people with disabilities in the arts & entertainment industries, the Prospector Theater believes that everyone deserves a spot both in front of and behind the camera. SparkleVision will have a variety of genres of programs highlighting the talents, skills, and abilities of Prospects.

This year, Masterwork Arts received more applications than ever, and the range and quality of these initiatives were outstanding. Our thanks to all applicants. The Masterwork Programming Committee -- board members Joseph White, Eileen White, Tim Watkins, Wayne Walters, Joen Ferrari and Tony Javed -- reviewed each submission and recommended the top applicants. The board made the final decision and is pleased to announce the following winners:

Dance on the Lawn has been awarded the top award, the $1,000 grant — Montclair, New Jersey’s dance festival is a free dance event that brings together diverse professional and emerging companies from New Jersey and New York with dance students from across New Jersey in a community setting that is open to the public. Dance on the Lawn celebrates dance in New Jersey and aims to promote, support and develop the cultural landscape throughout the state.

Current Showcase has been awarded a $500 grant — Brooklyn’s Current Showcase is an interdisciplinary performance art showcase supporting the work of emerging artists in the fields of dance, music, and theater made accessible to the public.  They have been awarded funds for Current (Take.7), an outdoor interdisciplinary festival planned for Spring 2022.
