Aaron Crook reports COVID cases at Ridgefield High School and ERMS

This afternoon, Aaron Crook, RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison, reported several cases of COVID at Ridgefield Public Schools. Please read below.

Today, the District learned that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the RHS building while potentially infectious to others from Tuesday, November 30, through Friday, December 3. Contact tracing has been completed.

We also learned today that another member of the RHS community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the RHS building while potentially infectious to others from  Tuesday, November 30, through Friday, December 3. Contact tracing for this case has been completed.

We also learned today that a member of the East Ridge Middle School (ERMS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the ERMS building while potentially infectious to others on Friday, December 3. Contact tracing has been completed.

We also learned today that another member of the RHS community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the RHS building while potentially infectious to others from  Wednesday, December 1, through Friday, December 3. Contact tracing is underway.

I conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director Ed Briggs and RHS Medical Advisor Dr. James Ahern about these cases.

For parents of students ages 5-11 who are interested in more information and/or resources regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact your school nurse and/or pediatrician.
