Obituary: Ridgefield Resident Logan Preston Hale, 13

Logan Preston Hale passed away on December 30, 2021.

Born December 26, 2008 to David and Kristina Hale; Logan was a true Ridgefielder and loved what this warm community offered him and his friends. He loved the safety and independence Ridgefield offered which enabled him to visit and enjoy special moments with friends after school.

Logan’s love for life was evident from the moment he took his first breath. Logan’s accomplishments are vast for his short 13 years of life.
He was a black belt in Taekwondo, qualifying for nationals four years in a row and bringing home a medal every time. He was working on his 2nd degree black belt prior to becoming ill.

One of his other passions was football. From the moment he picked a football up as 2-year-old, he never put it down. He loved his football team and all his coaches and was always ready with encouraging words for his teammates. When he was unable to play he would still attend practices and games to show his team support. He was a great fan of the Carolina Panthers and attended the opening game this year in Charlotte. Logan received a video message from Panthers running back Christian McCaffery encouraging him to “Keep Pounding”.

He loved to skateboard and scooter and was a fixture at the local skatepark. He played Basketball, and lacrosse among other sports. Off the field, he was an accomplished actor with IMDB credits for his acting in a few independent films as well as commercials credits and shows. Logan attended East Ridge Middle School and was 8th Grader.

In his spare time, he liked to stream videos about the games he and his friends played. One of his dreams was to donate video games consoles to the hospital so kids his age could stay connected with their friends and their treatments could be a bit less difficult.
In addition to his parents, Logan leaves behind his brother Ethan Hale, 18, who attends Wooster School. Logan and his brother Ethan bonded over building computers and playing video games. Logan looked up to him for guidance in the tech world and learned with Ethan about the stock market. They also bonded by playing golf.

Logan loved his cousin Owen and his Aunt Kristina, his Grandma Irina and his Grandpa Viktor. Logan will be missed tremendously every second that passes by and will always be remembered by his kindness, love and dedication to his friends and his effervescence.

Family and friends will be received at a walk through visitation on Sunday, January 16, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Masks or other facial coverings are required for all guests in attendance at the funeral home visitation.
Interment will take place privately. A Celebration of Logan's Life will take place at a later date.
