RSO and Keeler Tavern's Music at the Museum February 13

Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra (RSO) and Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC) are taking the music indoors this winter!

Following the popularity of the Music at the Museum outdoor summer concerts, the RSO and KTM&HC continue their collaboration to present winter chamber music concerts in February and March.

The first concert will be held on Sunday, February 13th at 4:00 PM in the Garden House at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center and feature Harmonia V – a classical and contemporary wind quintet comprised of Jennifer Berman, flute, Janet Rosen, oboe, Jim Forgery, Clarinet, Jackie Joyner, bassoon, and Robert Hoyle, horn. This lively ensemble is back by popular demand from the summer series and will perform a marvelous program of music including pieces by Ravel, Debussy, and two Connecticut composers, Joseph Russo and Gwyneth Walker – both of whom will be at the concert.

The March concert will be held on Sunday, March 13th at 4:00 PM, also in the Garden House, when Trio Della Corde will take the “stage”. Shan Jiang, violin, Suzanne Corey-Sahlin, viola, and Gunnar Sahlin, cello, compose an extremely talented trio who perform a marvelous mix of traditional classical and new music. They entertain and engage through both their music and welcoming interaction with the audience.

The Music at the Museum series, originally established in the summer of 2020 and repeated again this past summer, was started as a way to safely make music accessible during the pandemic. Although moving indoors for the winter, COVID protocols will be in place to ensure safety for those who attend. Masks must be worn at all times indoors and attendance will be limited to provide for social distancing. Limited parking is available at KTM&HC, located at 152 Main Street, Ridgefield.
