Christine Hopkinson Will Be Ridgefield High School Assistant Principal

Ridgefield Public Schools is pleased to announce that Christine Hopkinson, current Interim Assistant Principal at Ridgefield High School, will assume the role permanently starting on July 1, 2022.

A graduate of Boston College with a Master’s from the University of California, Los Angeles, Ms. Hopkinson taught English at RHS from 2012 to 2021 and served as the Student Life Coordinator from 2018 to 2021.

Ms. Hopkinson remarked, “This year as Interim Assistant Principal at RHS has been one of the most rewarding of my career, and I am truly honored to be asked to continue in this role. The ongoing support I received from the administrative team, faculty, staff, students, and families at RHS, as well as the wider RPS community, was instrumental as I transitioned into my new responsibilities. This experience reflects the positive culture that is an integral part of RHS. I continue to be inspired by this vibrant community, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to forge new connections in the coming years.”

RHS Principal Dr. Jacob Greenwood noted “Ms. Hopkinson assumed the role of Interim Assistant Principal this year to replace Jennifer Phostole, current Principal of East Ridge Middle School. Ms. Hopkinson hit the ground running and has not slowed down yet. Her caring nature has allowed her to form strong bonds with our students and staff throughout the year. Furthermore, Ms. Hopkinson’s level-headed decision-making, intelligence, and work ethic have proven to be invaluable assets to our school community. After an extensive interview process, Ms. Hopkinson again showed herself to be a candidate of great worth. Her intelligence, humility, and genuine care for the students, families, and staff of RHS will surely make her a trusted school leader for years to come.”

Ms. Hopkinson will begin the new position on July 1, 2022.

Congratulations, Christine!
