What makes you crack a smile in Ridgefield? Meet Pamme Jones

Summer Smiles in Ridgefield

Enjoying summer days close to home, at events and venues unique to your hometown, are some of the most memorable experiences in life. (plus, you can get cozy in your own bed at the end of a fun-filled day).

Our series “What makes you crack a smile” puts a spotlight on the local people, places and events that make our community an enjoyable place to live.

Get your flip-flops and summer ON and meet Pamme Jones, Executive Director of Ridgefield Theater Barn.

Tell us about your favorite summertime destination in town

Too many to narrow it down- but I do love a good long walk along the rail trail!

What community event do you look forward to attending? How does it make you feel?

I love attending the CHiRP Concerts on Tuesday nights in Ballard Park! This is a gleaming example of how the community values and supports the arts- Barbara Manners has established a real banner event for the town of Ridgefield. I love to grab some chairs, pack some drinks and snacks and settle in for a great evening of music in the park.

What summer activity in your town makes you crack a smile?

I love to be on Main Street in the summer and people watch- downtown Main Street Ridgefield is such a special place. You can see families out and about- enjoying ice cream, and playing in the park; people love to stroll and shop and everyone brings their dogs! I love to shop in town and LOVE the added bonus of running into friends. And there is no better way to get your walk in for the day than to walk up to the Fountain and back, maybe take in the Sculpture Garden at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum or a quick turn around the property and gardens at The Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center!
