Tell us about your favorite summertime destination in Ridgefield

Great Pond (aka Martin Pond) is my favorite place to go in the summer. I’ve lived in Ridgefield for eight years and have been picnicking and swimming there ever since!

What summer activity in Ridgefield makes you crack a smile?

Heading to Great Pond makes me crack a smile for a few reasons. First, it is spring-fed and is one of the cleanest lakes in all of Connecticut! There is no industry or homes surrounding it to cause runoff pollution. Second, Great Pond brings me great joy because of its peace and beauty.

Do you have a cherished memory of life in Ridgefield?

My husband and I love music and enjoy CHIRP concerts in Ballard Park during the summer!

Fun fact: my husband and I both lived in Ridgefield but never met. On March 12, 2017, we had a match.com date meeting for the first time at the [Cass Gilbert] Fountain and proceeded to stroll down Main Street. On October 30, 2020, at the height of covid we married in my 1890’s carriage house during a freak snowstorm. As you can see from the photo it was the two of us under the umbrella of “Ridgefield” in my backyard. Both of us cracking smiles!
