A record number of 1,260 plus runners gathered on East Ridge Road in Ridgefield at 8:30 am on a sunny Thanksgiving morning to participate in the 41st Annual Turkey Trot, a popular event that benefits Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club.
This Thanksgiving tradition is a day filled with much gratitude for health, community, friends and family.

Thank you to RHS senior and Club member Sophia Rodriguez who kicked off the Thanksgiving run by singing the National Anthem and to the many Turkey Trot sponsors including the event's Title Sponsor Fairfield County Bank, Kids Fun Run sponsor: Dr. Blaine Langberg and Champion sponsors: Karla Murtaugh HOMES, Collins & Hannafin and Hometown Dental.
Smiles, camaraderie, and Thanksgiving warmed the hearts of runners and supporters!
For the second year running, the first to cross the finish line was 19-year-old Charles Namiot of Ridgefield who finished at 15:50 running a speedy 5:05 minute mile.
Ridgefield native Grace Heller was the first female runner to complete the 5K running at 6:10 minute mile.

The fun continued beyond the finish line. Governor Street was buzzing with adrenaline-high locals who gathered with family and friends for post-race camaraderie.
The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield has been serving kids since 1936. Race proceeds help to serve over 3,000 kids each year.
