Four new Board of Directors join Lounsbury House

Lounsbury House, Ridgefield’s historic community center, has announced the appointment of four new Board of Director members as well as the full slate of officers and members for 2023.

Joining the Board are Dennis Bishop, Corrinne DiVestea, Karen Savir, and Marisa Schafer. “All four of our newest Board members embody the spirit of community and bring talent, expertise, and energy to the table. We are very fortunate to have them by our side as we work to preserve Ridgefield’s historic community center for the use & benefit of all,” says Executive Director Suzanne Brennan.

A lifelong resident of Ridgefield, Dennis Bishop is actively engaged in the community and currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for both The Ridgefield Playhouse and the Rotary Club of Ridgefield and as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Jesse Lee Church in Ridgefield.

Dennis previously served as President of The Rotary Club of Ridgefield and President of the Board of Directors for Ridgefield Amateur Hockey Association. Professionally, Dennis is a senior corporate/commercial contracts lawyer at MetLife in Manhattan. His experience includes many years of practice at major law firms and corporations in both New York City and Washington, DC. Dennis is an avid sports and music fan and has two children, both in the Ridgefield public school system.

Corrinne DiVestea is currently Executive Director of The Putnam Community Foundation, a charitable organization that manages affordable Senior housing. She has over 25 years’ of experience in public relations, event planning and fundraising. Corrinne is presently on the Putnam Hospital Center Foundation board and has served on various committees for Friends of Karen, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts of America. Corrinne's passion for history and love of historical homes attracted her family to move to Ridgefield 2 years ago.

Karen Savir lives and works in Ridgefield after having enjoyed careers in sales, finance, education, and event planning in Boston, Manhattan, and Westchester County, NY. Currently a Realtor at Coldwell Banker of Ridgefield and Katonah, NY, she is involved with fundraising efforts for Ridgefield Academy, advocates for girls’ empowerment at Ms. President US and is a feature writer for 068 Magazine. Karen loves spending time with her husband, three children and two dogs. She is very excited to be involved with the Lounsbury House and giving back to the community.

Marisa Schafer moved to Ridgefield in 2016 and quickly fell in love with the town and its people. Marisa is looking forward to serving community in a meaningful way that involves not only preservation of our town’s historic beauty, but specifically through community outreach at Lounsbury House. Ms. Schafer was admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut in 2005 and admitted to the federal bar in 2007.

In 2011 she and her husband formed Schafer Law. Marisa has two young children in the Branchville District, sits on the ritual committee at Congregation Shir Shalom in Ridgefield, is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, and a performer with Troupers Light Opera.
