Memorial Service Planned for Ridgefield Resident Dr. Kristin Sobel, 39, DVM at Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital

Dr. Kristin Sobel (Boyd), DVM, 39, of Ridgefield, died on December 31, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey D. Boyd and loving mother of Andrew Owen Boyd.

Kristin was born in Springfield, MA on July 27, 1983; the daughter of Marek and Krystyna Sobel. From early on, Kristin expressed talent in academics and athletics, but her calling was found in caring for her family’s pets.

Kristin earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and then attended graduate school at St. George’s University in Grenada. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Oregon in 2012.

A Ridgefield resident since 2018, Kristin was a veterinarian at Noah’s Ark Animal Hospital in Danbury. In her spare time, Kristin enjoyed scouting local nature preserves for the best hiking trails, exploring historic sites near and far, finding all the best places to eat, and relaxing on the beach.

Kristin is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Boyd, her son, Andrew Boyd, her wonderful parents, Marc and Krys, and an adoring extended family on both sides. Marc and Krys graced the world with an angel. Kristin’s family cherished her simple elegance, unswerving poise, sharp wit, cheerful attitude, and calming presence. Kristin so enjoyed creating wonderful memories with her in-laws, Bill and Laura Boyd, and her darling nephews Michael and Jack (sons of Elaine and Mike Pietras), and Aaron (son of Bill and Ramona Boyd).

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Kristin’s Life will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning on January 26th at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Following the memorial service, a reception will be held at Hayfields in North Salem. There will be no calling hours; interment will take place privately.

Contributions in Kristin’s memory may be made to ROAR (Ridgefield Operation Animal Rescue) or ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

Kane Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
