Ridgefield 5th Graders Graduate from D.A.R.E., Dare N. Lion Attends Ceremony!

Congratulations to the fifth-grade students from Farmingville Elementary School who graduated from this year's D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program.

Ridgefield Police Department remarks, "We're all proud of you (especially Officer Giglio) and wish you well for the remainder of the school year. A special shout out to Dare N. Lion for surprising us at the ceremony!"

Officer Mark Giglio, is one of Ridgefield's SROs (School Resource Officers).

D.A.R.E. is a police-officer-led series of classroom lessons that gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence.

D.A.R.E. was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and has proven so successful that it is now being implemented in 75 percent of our nation’s school districts and in more than 52 countries around the world.
