Services Planned for Beloved Ridgefield Bus Driver Robert Doerr, 38

Robert J. Doerr, of New Fairfield CT, passed away with his mother by his side on February 6, 2023 at Danbury Hospital. He was 38 years old.

Born on June 20, 1984 in Danbury, CT son of Cheryl Esposito. Robert graduated from Luttrell High School in Tennesee in 2002 and attended Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL. Robert was honorably discharged from the US Army. Robert loved his career as a bus driver with First Student Transportation in Ridgefield, he loved all the children and they loved him back and he often took his son to work with him.

Robert was a gentle, kind and caring person. If you were lucky enough to meet him you had a friend for life. His goal in life was to make everyone smile, and he was excellent at achieving this goal. His greatest passion and joy in life was raising his son, cherishing every moment with him. As a devoted Dad he would share his love of both music and the outdoors with Leon.

On any weekend you could find them both spending hours hiking in the woods “ geocaching”

Robert is survived by his loving mother Cheryl of New Fairfield, CT, his adored son Leonidas Alexander, his grandparents; Arlene and Donald Bennett of New Fairfield, CT, his Aunt Bonnie and Uncle David DonFrancesco of New Milford, his Aunt Joy Angelica of New Milford and his cousins; Shannon Young, Zachary (Kristy) Radachowsky and their child Lincoln, Valaree (Ken) Machen. He was predeceased by his brother Leon and his Uncle Vic.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Danbury Hospital critical care unit for the extraordinary care and kindness Robert received there.
