Two members of the Ridgefield High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FLBA) create website for The Queen B coffee shop and win first place in Connecticut
Ridgefield High School's chapter of the FBLA has grown exponentially over the last 5 years. Each year there is a State Competition where students choose events and compete against other High Schools across the State of Connecticut. The top 4 teams are chosen to represent their State at the National Leadership Conference in June.
Two Ridgefield High School Juniors, Charlotte McLemore and Madalen Brown, chose the FBLA "Website Design" event in the State Leadership Competition. Brown and McLemore were given a choice of creating a fictitious Company to create a website for or finding a real company to create one for.
The students heard of a new Coffee Shop, The Queen B, that had recently opened in Ridgefield and took it upon themselves to contact Queen B and ask if they could create a website for them to use as their project for the State Leadership Competition. They met with the proprietors outside of school, gathered information about the Company, and created an amazing website all on their own.
On March 17th, fifty Ridgefield High School Students traveled to the FBLA State Leadership Conference at Naugatuck Community College and presented their website to a panel of independent Judges.
Charlotte and Madalen WON FIRST PLACE IN THE STATE OF CT.
Queen B will be using their website as the official website of their Business. These students did an amazing job of independently researching, being proactive, and using their Business skills to achieve this huge accomplishment.
