Whip Salon Ridgefield Unveils Instagram Wall, Local Artists Create Bespoke Mural

Whip Salon Ridgefield is known for its friendly staff, top talent and trendsetting style. After 6 years in business the space has introduced a few key updates to keep the salon looking and feeling fresh, including a modern new reception desk and brand new ergonomic shampoo sinks complete with head and neck rests for ultimate comfort. However, the real show stopper is the brand new "get whipped" wall mural created by local artists Andrea Rowan and Gail Buggy.

"Andrea and Gail truly nailed the brief when they designed this beautiful artwork for our space," said Amy Pal owner of Whip Salon. "We wanted to create something that was both on brand and eye-catching to encourage our clients to take selfies with it after getting their hair done. We wanted to incorporate the whimsical imagery we use on our packaging for Whip Salon brand organic products. What Andrea and Gail created is so colorful and lively it is absolutely perfect in our space."

The artists, Rowan and Buggy, are also collaborating on another mural for a local restaurant that will be opening soon. "We are on a roll," said Rowan. "I enjoy being able to do what I love in a community that I've been a part of for many years, it's very gratifying."

In addition to the wall mural, Rowan's artwork is also being featured on the walls of the salon and is available for purchase. "I like to create abstract pieces featuring flowers, hearts and nature using mixed media, acrylic paint, tissue paper and photo encaustic." A gardener herself, Rowan finds inspiration even in her own backyard. She primarily works out of her home art studio and has a pull towards landscape design and equestrian themes as well. You can learn more about her art on her website at https://www.andrearowanstudio.com/.

Be sure to stop by Whip Salon Ridgefield located at 23 Governor Street next to Bissell Pharmacy to see the new mural and artwork. The salon is open 7 days a week.
