William Sibley and Christopher Hulbert of Ridgefield recognized in spring 2023 award ceremonies and honor societies at Eastern

More than 300 Eastern Connecticut State University students were recognized for scholarly excellence at the conclusion of the spring 2023 semester. Given by academic departments across the University, the recognitions included induction into more than a dozen academic honor societies, scholarship awards and departmental distinctions.

Among those honored were Ridgefield residents:

William Sibley, a junior who majors in Business Administration. Sibley was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta honor society at the Business Honors Reception on April 18 in the Student Center's Betty R. Tipton Room.

Founded in 1913 by professors from New York University and Yale University, as well as the dean of Harvard College, Delta Mu Delta (DMD) has grown into an honor society reading 175 countries and has more than 160,000 members. In order to be inducted, students must have a 3.25 GPA in their field and be in the top 20 percent of their junior or senior class.

Christopher Hulbert, a junior who majors in History and Social Sciences. Hulbert was inducted into the Alpha Mu Alpha chapter of the Phi Alpha Theta national history honor society at the Department of History's annual ceremony on April 17 in the J. Eugene Smith Library.
