The 9th RIFF will take place May 16-19, 2024 at various venues throughout Ridgefield, CT. Each year RIFF curates a unique event that showcases independent films from around the world to our audience and showcases Ridgefield, Connecticut to independent filmmakers.
RIFF curates each festival with the help of community curators who screen films via the submissions platform FilmFreeway. Films are rated on a points system on such things as Writing, Cinematography, Direction, Sound, Performances, etc.
In order to be credited in the program and to receive an ALL ACCESS PASS to the festival, each community curator must screen and evaluate at least 10 hours of films. These can be features or shorts, or any combination thereof. RIFF believes in the power and intelligence of our community and relies on you to help make a fun and meaningful experience for every attendee.

Ridgefield Independent Film Festival was founded in 2015 by local playwright and
filmmaker, Joanne Hudson and presented its first iteration in May of 2016 at ten venues throughout Ridgefield, CT; screening 72 films from 26 countries. Since then the festival has attracted the likes of celebrities Allison Williams, James Naughton, Barry Levinson and Paul Dano, as well as talented local and international filmmakers. Now, in its 9th year, this highly curated festival attempts to bring films, filmmakers, and community together in Ridgefield Connecticut to share all it has to offer with the same independent spirit in which it began: in the hopes of making the world a more compassionate place through the sharing of stories through cinema.
