In a letter to the Ridgefield Public School community, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Susie Da Silva shared sad news about a Ridgefield High School student who passed away this morning.

"The loss for our student's family and friends is one that is unimaginable, and we offer them our prayers and unconditional love and attention. Out of respect for the family, we will wait to share further information. The days ahead will be long and difficult, and our community, alongside RHS teachers, will need to feel our arms wrapped around them with support, " Da Silva said.

In addition to our RPS counselors, the District will be assisted by local and regional organizations that specialize in grief and crisis counseling which will be available both during and after the school day for as many days as needed.
