Valerie Jensen is Keynote Speaker for Special Olympics CT Athlete Leadership Training Day, Honored as a Game Changer

 This past Saturday, fifty Special Olympics athletes who serve as Global Messengers for Special Olympics Connecticut (SOCT) along with their mentors, SOCT Board Members, staff and guests, gathered at Yale West Campus for the fall Athlete Leadership Training Day.

SOCT says, "We were THRILLED to have Valerie Jensen, Founder of The Prospector Theater and Gemstone Farm, as the Keynote Speaker for the event and thank her for presenting to our group!"
 
Valerie Jensen opened the Prospector Theater in Ridgefield in November of 2014 committed to providing competitive and inclusive employment to people with disabilities through the operation of a first-run movie theater and online popcorn business. Since its inception, employees (known as Prospects) have clocked over 1,000,000 hours of competitive and inclusive employment.
 
SOCT remarks "Val is truly is a Game Changer as a dedicated and passionate advocate for and provider of jobs for individuals with intellectual disabilities, a champion of inclusion, and a very generous and involved supporter of Special Olympics - who does it all with sparkle and brilliance!"
