August Opening Planned for CVS on Branchville Road in Ridgefield

CVS is set to open this August in the space once occupied by Ancona's Market. 

Earlier today, we spoke with a CVS employee at the corporate office who told us that CVS was NOT planning to open in 2014. After speaking with Ridgefield Planning & Zoning and learning that all of the permits were in place and a sign was proposed to the Architectural Advisory Committee, we called CVS Corporate again. This time, we received this answer from Media Relations employee, Michael DeAngelis.

"I checked and we plan to have the new CVS pharmacy completed and open in August."

Some of our readers have asked if the current CVS on Main Street in Ridgefield would remain open.  "We have no plans to close the Main Street location," said DeAngelis.

In early January, Joe and Laura Ancona told the community that they were working to bring a locally-owned, specialty market, to a portion of the Branchville Road property. Ancona's Wine & Liquor, owned by Mitch Ancona, is also located on the property (720 Branchville Road) and remains open. 

Ridgefield Planning and Zoning told us that all necessary permits were secured for interior demolition and renovation of the space.
