Tutoring Club of Ridgefield & Stamford has a new owner

Maria Markus, the longtime owner and operator of Tutoring Club in Ridgefield and Stamford, has sold both tutoring clubs to Ridgefield residents, Robert and Heather Salaga. "You can be sure that your students' experience will remain consistent and that our familiar and valued tutors will continue their fine work with your children," says Markus.

Maria Markus has always been dedicated to the community of Ridgefield, donating to Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield, Ridgefield Community Foundation, and countless other nonprofits.

On behalf of all of us at HamletHub, thank you for all you have done to support our community! You will be missed.

Below is a letter that Markus wrote to her Tutoring Club clients and the community at large.

Dear Tutoring Club Family and Friends,

For almost twelve years you have turned to the Tutoring Club in Ridgefield and Stamford to enhance the educational experiences of your children. Our vision was to build a warm and welcoming place for children of all ages to enjoy enhanced educational guidance and achieved success. We wholeheartedly believe we did that with Tutoring Club and we thank you for trusting us with your students' education.

From the very first day, you have supported us beyond our wildest imaginations.  In return, we helped your children overcome reading challenges, write more effectively, solve pesky math problems, and prove to themselves that the SAT and ACT can be beat.  Your children continue to thrive and go on to be wonderful human beings, helping make this world a better place.

Now it is time for me to move on to other things. You can be sure that your students' experience will remain consistent and that our familiar and valued tutors will continue their fine work with your children. I am thrilled to introduce you to the new owners, Robert and Heather Salaga, and onsite Director, Joey Salaga.

Robert and Heather Salaga bring a passion for life and education, and reside in Ridgefield with their daughter, Avery.  Robert leads Total Rewards at The Priceline Group in Norwalk, and serves as Vice Chairman of Junior Achievement of Southwest Connecticut, one of the largest non-for-profit leaders in delivering business, economic, and STEM education.  Heather is a partner of The Chip Neumann Team at Neumann Real Estate, alongside her father, Chip Neumann.  She also leads monthly workshops at TBICO in Danbury, an educational and employment resource center for individuals re-entering the workforce.

Joey Salaga is thrilled to be the onsite Director, bringing a wealth of knowledge and energy from his 25+ years in the service industry, and cares greatly about the future of your children. Joey is dedicated to the academic achievement of each student.  Under Joey's leadership, the Tutoring Club will flourish, and I am confident you will enjoy working with him, and your children will love celebrating the many successful moments and laughs along the way with Joey!

I have enjoyed every minute, every student, and every parent here at the Tutoring Club. It was a privilege to get to know you and your families and to see your children and our students reach their educational goals -- be that reading at the next level or being accepted into the school of their dreams. I will miss every one of our Tutoring Club families. Your children are delightful young people we can be proud of and I am grateful to have had a part in their success. Please join me in welcoming Robert, Heather, and Joey!
