Amy Pal introduces Whip Salon to Ridgefield

Ridgefield resident Amy Pal is back on the Ridgefield business scene as she prepares to welcome a brand new business to Ridgefield. Whip Salon Blow Dry Bar will open at 23 Governor Street in September.

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Amy about her new endeavor (which she approaches with the same awesome energy and enthusiasm she brought to Ridgefield and Wilton JoyRide Studios).

Congrats on your new business! How did the idea for Whip Salon come about?

Blow Dry Bars are such a hot trend right now and so many people I've talked to said they would love to have one right here in Ridgefield, so that got my wheels turning. However, I didn't want to limit the business to just that so I thought a hybrid of blow dry bar, as well as a full service salon with cut and color for women, men and children would be the way to go. Whip Salon Blow Dry Bar will offer a Look Book of various styles to choose from, as well as membership rates and package deals that allow clients to get an even better price. We are going to be focused on hair and makeup only, accompanied by top notch service.

What is it about your Salon that will make it stand out from all the others in town?

I have been focused on what I call "The three Es" to help distinguish Whip from the competition. The first is "Ease" - it will be a snap to book with us. You can call of course or book online, but we will also have an app you can download to book your appointment at your fingertips - and it is as detailed as selecting your preferred stylist!  The second is "Excellence." We will have experienced stylists trained to deliver stellar, consistent customer service. And finally "Edge." What I mean by that is it's going to have a cool vibe to it, both in decor and branding. I am so fortunate to be working with Romeo + Baglio Designs who have just completed both the Lucy's stores in Westport and Ridgefield. The team has blown me away with their professionalism and expertise. I'm so excited to share their vision with Ridgefield, this salon is going to look incredibly chic thanks to them.

You did a fantastic job as owner of Ridgefield and Wilton JoyRides. What will you take to Whip Salon from those learning experiences?

There's no substitute for working with top, local talent. When you surround yourself with the experts, it makes such a huge difference. In addition to having Romeo + Baglio on board, I'm also working again with Doyle Coffin Architecture who designed both my JoyRide studios. They are amazing! I'm so excited with the layout they developed. I've also hired contractor Roman Rozinka to do the build out and he has been instrumental in helping me get the project just right. I'm in good hands with all of my partners and frankly it makes it fun for me working with them all!

Based on the response on social media, the community seems pretty excited about Whip Salon. Tell me about that.

I'm overwhelmed by the showing of support for Whip Salon that I've gotten already. I find that people want you to succeed. And when you are doing something that benefits their lives and the town, they are so appreciative. I am so humbled by the town's support, Ridgefield truly is a warm and welcoming place and I feel so lucky to a part of this community
