Renovations to Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Center Begin April 2

The Ridgefield Parks and Recreation Center has announced that renovations to the Recreation Center will begin on April 2.

"There is water and structural damage and the work is necessary. Repairs have been approved by a Town referendum for $950,000," Ridgefield Parks and Rec explains.

The project architect is Doyle Coffin Associates and the construction is being done by Roche Inc. (please note: there is no relation to Parks and Rec Director, Paul Roche). The Rec Center anticipates the renovations will take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

"We will remain fully operational during the construction with all classes/programs running on schedule," the Rec Center says.

The first phase of the project will focus on the regular locker rooms. During that time, all members will use the Wellness locker rooms.

The second phase will be the renovation of the Wellness Center bathrooms and locker rooms. During that time, Wellness and All-Inclusive members will be asked to use the regular and family bathrooms and locker rooms.

"We understand that patrons will be inconvenienced, but it is a temporary thing and we know that everyone will be so happy with all of the beautifully updated improvements," Parks and Rec explains.
