Why Small Businesses Matter in Ridgefield is the brainchild of Jeff Konchalski, owner of Nature's Temptations. By putting a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community, Jeff wants to stress the importance of shopping and supporting everything local. Since the campaign began in January of 2018, 36 Ridgefield businesses have been "tagged" and given the opportunity to share their story. And, we've only just begun...
Three questions with Amy Hochhauser and Rhodie Lorenz, owners of JoyRide.
Why did you start your business?
When we founded JoyRide and opened our first boutique studio nearly eight years ago, our goal was to not only offer high-end, endorphin-surged indoor cycling classes but to also offer an inclusive, positive community for people to find joy and ignite their personal strength. We wanted to combine a feeling of joy (my grandmother’s name), with an action, “ride,” so we came up with the name JoyRide. Our JoyRide community inspires me on a daily basis. The collective energy and passion of our riders is truly the ultimate reward.
I wish I could be in 5 places at once so I can be involved at each studio and spend time with all the staff and riders daily!
Best selling product/service?
At JoyRide Ridgefield, we offer calorie-torching, interval-based, boutique indoor cycling classes. Talented and enthusiastic instructors, including two Nike ambassadors/trainers and several Division 1 athletes, lead challenging workouts set to motivating music. Every class is equally challenging and inspiring, but our most popular cycling classes in the Ridgefield studio are on the weekends, so we recommend signing up as soon as the schedule opens on Sundays at 8 a.m. in order to secure a bike!
