Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. Since the campaign began in January 2018, 51 Ridgefield businesses have been "tagged" and given the opportunity to share their story. And, we've only just begun...
You're IT Bissell Pharmacy and The Loft at Bissell!
Three questions with Ed Karvosky, owner of Bissell Pharmacy.
Why did you start your business?
I have been serving the Ridgefield Community for 45 years. After 27 years at Ridgefield Pharmacy, I had the opportunity to acquire Bissell Pharmacy. Bissell is one of the oldest pharmacies in Connecticut. My wife Susan and I have transformed Bissell into a full-service pharmacy with a unique gift shop, "The Loft at Bissell".
Best selling products or services?
Besides prescriptions and vaccinations, our gift shop has many different brands of gifts including L'Occitane, Thymes, Crabtree and Evelyn, and Simon Pearce. We also carry a unique selection of furniture.
How many people do you employ?
We have 15-20 employees, range from high school to seniors.
We are tagging the Toy Chest!
Bissell Pharmacy is located at 23 Governor Street.
