Ridgefield Running Company Earns 50 Best Running Stores in America Award

Ridgefield Running Company (RRC) has been selected as one of the “50 Best Running Stores in America”, a recognition awarded by Formula Four Media, the Run Specialty Industry Trade

Magazine and Convention Host. Owner Megan Searfoss will attend the 50 Best awards ceremony in Minneapolis, MN on June 22nd.  The selection process is rigorous and is based on excellence in community outreach, customer service, store appearance and technical knowledge.

“This recognition comes at a time when Ridgefield Running Company has begun to find its stride. RRC’s mission is to bring out the best forward motion for each client.”, said Searfoss, “Everyone’s pace, goals and movement are different. Many of our clients are not even runners, they are just looking for a shoe that will help them move through life comfortably.”  Ridgefield Running Company’s brand logo is a triskelion, a three-legged Celtic symbol that represents constant forward motion. The products that are carried at RRC are geared towards helping the community move forward.

Ridgefield Running Company offers many community programs throughout the year, from the Frozen Feet Challenge that encourages people to walk or run at least one mile in January and February, 5K, Half-Marathon and Marathon training programs. RRC also staffs the Ridgefield Academy Summer Running Club for 7-12 year olds. Runners enjoy the regular Saturday Shop Run for all paces and hosts event-based runs open to the public throughout the year. "Forward Together" has become the mantra at Ridgefield Running, as the store understands the importance of movement and community for a healthy mind and body.

Ridgefield resident Megan Searfoss opened Ridgefield Running Company in 2014 with former owner, Deb Povinelli.  A lifelong athlete, Megan has helped thousands of people in her community and beyond to enhance their lives through running and fitness. She is the founder of Run Like a Mother, a national 5K race series that has encouraged more than 35,000 women across the country to make running a part of their life, while benefiting local charities. Additionally, she is the author of See Mom Run- Every Mother’s Guide to Getting Fit and Running Her First 5K, a book inspired by her experience training women that have never considered themselves a runner.  Megan is also the owner of everywear on main, a lifestyle store for men and women on Main Street in Ridgefield. The Searfoss Family has lived in Ridgefield for twelve years.
