Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. Since the campaign began in January 2018, more than 60 Ridgefield businesses have been "tagged" and given the opportunity to share their story.

You're IT Bring n Buy and Bring n Buy Too!

Three questions with Tina Hassenstein, co-owner of Bring n Buy and Bring n Buy Too.

Why did you start your business?

We actually didn’t start Bring nBuy. My mom, Patti Murphy, purchased it from the original owner about 35 years ago. The store fills a need in the community because there is a lot of consumption and impulse buying and our store gives people the opportunity to make some money back on mistake purchases while supporting a recycling mentality.

Best selling product or service?

The best selling item is definitely handbags and shoes. No matter what size you are, you always need a new bag and new shoes. We have an amazing selection of both. Many items still have original price tags.

How many people do you employ?

There are only two people working at Bring n Buy/ myself and my mom. It has been great in that she and I have different strengths and weaknesses so obviously we focus on our individual strengths to be most successful. For example, Patti is way better at accounting so she handles that task. I am creatively strong so I handle social media and events.

Bring n Buy is located at 590 Danbury Road in Ridgefield. Visit them on Facebook here and on their website here.
