Ridgefield Town Hall Looking Spiffy for the Holiday Season!

Just in time for Ridgefield's Annual Tree Lighting and the Holiday Stroll, construction in front of Town Hall is nearly complete! Santa's red sleigh is back - all we need now is some snow (happening now) and Santa!

In early August, the two Siberian Elm trees, once towering over Town Hall in downtown Ridgefield were uprooted and refurbishments to the exterior of Town Hall began. After being closed off for several months, the front entrance to Town Hall is now accessible.

In addition repairs to the steps leading to Town Hall, improvements made include waterproofing of the foundation and the reconstruction of the brick wall. A new iron railing has been installed by the Greenwich-based company, Post Road Iron Works.

There are a few cosmetic improvements planned for Town Hall.  "We will be planting some hydrangeas and updating some around the perimeter of the building," says Marconi.

The restoration is made possible by a $175,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program Grant, otherwise known as a STEAP grant.
