Three questions with Jennifer Kinford, owner of J.Kinford Beauty Group.
Why did you start your business?
I started my business for a number of reasons. I have been a professional makeup artist for a decade, but my career started in the NYC beauty/editorial scene while always doing weddings on the side. When I became a mom, I found the NYC beauty/editorial world to be something that was hard for me to continue invest my career in. I needed something that was not only more relatable to my life, but also gave me flexibility to be closer to my kids. I knew there were other like-minded Creatives out there and it became my mission to find them while creating a unique high-end experience for brides in Fairfield County.

I wish I could somehow allow all women to see the beauty in themselves that we see. I always tell women that we WANT to see their freckles, their curls, etc. These are the features that make each of us unique. Working with our clients means bringing out the features that they love most while creating an environment for them to breathe a sigh of relief and really feel like they are in great hands.
You will often find me in Squash's printing information, mailers, etc. They are so helpful and Matt always has a solution to any problem. We work often with the incredible ladies of Medicinal Skin to be sure our clients' skin is in tip-top shape leading up to their weddings. You can also find beautiful bridal hair pieces and clips provided by Tundi in our Main Street studio. Lastly, we adore Enza Events and work alongside \ Enza on many of our weddings. Her creativity is jaw-dropping. Our town is lucky to have such amazing resources!
