You're IT Medicinal Skin!

Three questions with Holly Arrindell, owner of Medicinal Skin.

Why did you start your business?

As a licensed esthetician and licensed massage therapist in NYC, I found my niche is facials. I love helping clients feel good about their skin and feel relaxed at the same time. When I moved back to Ridgefield, I couldn’t find the right place to work, so I decided to open up my own place! Valerie Albanese Swenson joined me when I opened in 2015, and she has been very instrumental in creating a beautiful, relaxing space for our clients. We are happy Helen Klosson joined us last year, bringing her many years of experience as a talented massage therapist. We are excited about our recent expansion that can accommodate couples or friends at the same time.

What is your best selling product/service?

Our Steam & Peel remains one of our most popular facials followed closely by our Micro-Dermabrasion Facial. All our facials and massage treatments are customized to suit the client’s concerns and needs.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Kate Fitzpatrick Consulting has been working on my social media since I opened in 2015. I have advertised with HamletHub and The Ridgefield Playhouse. We offer a special in the “Personal Touch Welcome” basket by Dee Strilowich, the lovely Welcome Wagon Lady. We’ve partnered with JoyRide. I have meetings at Tazza Cafe, KaFo and Early Bird. And we’ve celebrated birthdays and the holidays with our team at The Village Tavern and Bailey’s Backyard. We’ve referred clients to Meredith Mulhearn’s Cucumber & Chamomile for nutrition therapy to help improve their skin, and worked with Jennifer Kinford Beauty Group to help prepare her clients for their wedding day. For supplies big and small, we frequent Ridgefield Hardware and Squashes. I am an active member of The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce, a wonderful resource for small businesses.
