Ridgefield's Village Tavern Sold, Closed Temporarily

The Village Tavern in downtown Ridgefield announced that they were closed due to the recent snow and ice storm. The popular downtown eatery has still not reopened.

We learned today from co-owner Bruno DiFabio that The Village Tavern has been sold.

"After two years of business we have decided to sell VT," he said. "It will be reopened by another very successful restaurateur in the next few months," DiFabio added.

While the new owner and his family wish to remain anonymous at this time, DiFabio said they own several restaurants in Westport, Greenwich and Fairfield.

The Village Tavern, located at 378 Main Street, opened exactly two years ago today, on January 23, 2017, by seasoned restauranteurs and chefs Bruno DiFabio and Germano Minin and Ridgefield resident Joe Chelednik.
