Third Saturdays Family Workshop: Sumi-e Self-Portraits
Celebrate Presidents' Day Weekend with FREE admission to The Aldrich on Saturday, February 16. Third Saturdays is the Museum’s monthly free day where admission is free to all visitors and Museum educators offer family-friendly art-making workshop the on-site Studio from 10 am to 3 pm.
10 am to 12 noon; children ages 2 to 5
1 to 3 pm; children ages 6 to 10
About Sum-e Self Portraits
Explore the Japanese style of Sumi-e (black ink paintings) to create portraits of you and your family on watercolor paper. Explore how different brush strokes can evoke texture, shape, and emotion as you use lines and shapes to create unique and custom portraits.

Afternoon Studios family-friendly art-making workshop in The Studio from 2 to 4 pm.
Explore the ocean in this exciting afternoon workshop! Create your own paper sea creatures to add to our three-dimensional Aldrich Aquarium installation! Will there be sea turtles? A school of fish? Anemones? You decide! Help us create a beautiful Aldrich Aquarium.
The Aldrich will be open regular hours (12 noon to 5 pm).
