Whip Salon Signs First Franchise Agreement New Location to Open in Newtown This Summer

Monday, June 3rd, 2019 -- (Newtown, CT) Whip Salon (www.whipsalon.com) is pleased to announce it will be opening its doors for a third location in Newtown this July, it’s first franchise agreement.

The popular, high-end full service beauty salon offers haircuts, color services, blowout memberships and makeup services with locations in Ridgefield and Westport. Whip Salon’s First Franchise Entrepreneur Marcelle Tiffany, a Bethel native who has been employed by Whip Salon Ridgefield for more than a year, is the new franchise owner of Whip Salon Newtown. T

iffany brings experience with start-up businesses as well as a cosmetology background. This unique cross section of skills makes her uniquely qualified for her new leadership role. “We are thrilled to be welcoming Marcelle to the Whip Salon team and think her business acumen and knowledge of the brand makes her a tremendous asset to our growing business,” said founder Amy Pal who owns the Ridgefield and Westport locations.

Tiffany graduated from the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in Danbury in 2009 and started her career working in various local salons. In 2011 she took time off for maternity leave but then refocused her career to open a juice bar/cafe in Bethel in 2013 which she managed and then sold in 2015. Yearning to get back into the beauty industry, she returned to working “behind the chair” as a stylist and eventually made her way to Whip Salon.

“When I started looking for a new salon company I came across Whip Salon and it immediately resonated with me,” said Tiffany. “I loved everything about the salon from it’s polished media presence and modern marketing approach to its hyper-focus on client satisfaction. It felt like home.”

“It’s a special place. The Whip Salon culture is based on positivity and everyone is committed to continuing education, supporting one another and being the best we can be as individuals and collectively,” said Tiffany. “It’s truly a wonderful place to work and I knew early on that I wanted to be a part of the “Whip Salon” movement so when the opportunity came along to franchise, I seized it.”

“I am especially excited to bring Whip Salon to the beautiful town of Sandy Hook. There’s nothing more magical than to be a part of a community who’s unity and strength is so commendable,” said Tiffany.

Behind the Name Whip Salon

The meaning behind the edgy name is founder Amy Pal’s brainchild. “Whip, simply put, is a slang term for hair. It’s a nod to a carefree time when I was just out of college, my friends and I used to call our hair our “whip.” I thought it had such a playful ring to it that would set us apart in a landscape of predictable names,” said Pal.

Franchise Opportunities with Whip Salon

“Marcelle possesses the right combination of business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit to make Whip Salon Newtown flourish. We are so excited to help her achieve her dream of owning her own business and she is setting an incredible example for her daughters,” said Angela DePalma, Head of Franchise Training. “She spotted a smart opportunity by taking over an existing salon, rebranding

and making it her very own Whip Salon. We can’t wait to get started.”
