JoyRide CT Temporary Closure Notification

It is with heavy hearts that we are writing to inform you that JoyRide has made the proactive step to temporarily close our five Connecticut studios, effective immediately.  We hope to reopen March 30 and will keep you up-to-date as the situation evolves.

As a small, local business, this has been a particularly gut-wrenching decision. We had hoped to stay open to provide an outlet for our community during this difficult time. We also struggled with how to protect our many incredible employees who rely upon their paychecks to stay afloat.

With that said, we feel a moral imperative to take whatever steps necessary to stop the spread of COVID-19 as quickly as possible. While fitness is crucial to keep one's immunity strong, we don't feel comfortable putting our customers and staff at risk. We hope to help "Flatten the Curve" of transmission and play our part in bringing this crisis to a quicker resolution.

We're SO GRATEFUL to all of our incredible customers who have reached out to us during this challenging time. We can't thank you enough for your support and encouragement.

Below are a few FAQs to help address the most common inquires:

1.  Freezes & Extensions - If you have a current membership and you would like to freeze it until we re-open, no problem! Simply email info@joyridestudio.com to make this request. In addition, we will extend the expiration date on all class packages to accommodate for our closure.

2.  Streaming Classes - We have an incredible streaming partner, Forte.Fit. Via their platform, you can stream JoyRide Cycle classes, JoyX classes, or a variety of off-the-bike formats, such as Pilates, Barre, and Yoga from other leading boutique brands. To receive a deeply discounted membership (less than $8 a month), simply use code JOYRIDE89 on their site here: Forte.Fit.  Also, if you are interested in purchasing an indoor bike, there are several options on Amazon under $500, such as this bike here.  We can't personally guarantee it, but it has good reviews.

3.  Challenges - Our March Madness challenge is suspended during our closure. We are, however, planning an online-only nutrition and fitness challenge with our incredible partner of JoyFit Challenge fame, Ilanit Blumenfeld, RD. Stay tuned for more information on this in the coming days!

4. Gift Cards -  Although our doors are closed, we are still responsible for rent and bills like any small business. If you want to help keep JoyRide strong as we weather this storm, please consider buying an online gift card here for use in the future. They do not expire.

5.  JoyCommunity Facebook Page - We have created a new JoyCommunity Facebook page HERE to help us all stay connected during this challenging time. Please join this page so we can share online workouts and other tips from our instructors and staff to help everyone stay well and fit until we can resume our normal schedule.

The JoyFamily we've built over the last decade is incredible. We need each other more than ever to get through these unprecedented times. We are grateful for each one of you and we look forward to seeing you in the studio again as soon as we are able. #strongertogether

Stay tuned for updates and information in the coming days as the situation continues to evolve.

With deep gratitude, hope & JOY,

R
