Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Step inside FitGuana.

Three questions with Sander Vanacker, founder of FitGuana.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

We’d like for the community to know that FitGuana is open again for group classes as well as private sessions.  We exceed the required safety measures and offer individual workout stations with 12’ distancing so clients do not need to wear a mask.  Each client has their own set of equipment and we continue to give clients challenging and safe training sessions!  More than ever it is important to support local so if you’ve been thinking about trying out a new gym, come try us out and support a locally owned and operated small business!

Are there certain individuals or organizations that supported you and your business through this trying time?

The main support we received was from our clientele and coaching staff.  Both are absolute gems and due to this support, FitGuana was able to operate by offering virtual sessions during the lockdown period and we continue to offer 5 virtual classes weekly even though we are open for classes and private services.  This way we can accommodate clients who are not able yet to return.

FitGuana is located at 16 Bailey Ave. in Ridgefield. Visit them online here.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines

Due to FitGuana's open floorplan and equipment choices, we have been able to run operations very smoothly.  In order to keep our clients and staff safe, we offer workout stations 12’ away from each other, ample ventilation in our new facility, air filtration, hand sanitizing stations, EPA approved disinfectants, separate entrance and exit, mask-wearing when entering and leaving (not during training), separate fresh and sanitized towels which are color-coded (white for yourself and black for equipment) and much more.

The key to reopening was to offer a safe and comfortable atmosphere in which we can continue to offer what we do best and clients love about us and we believe we succeeded in doing so as most of our clients were anxious to return right away!

HamletHub thanks Fairfield County Bank for making our Why Small Businesses Matter series possible!
