Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Three questions with Train 2Xcel coach, Loic Descoutures.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

Covid-19 changed everything. It changed people’s lives. It changed how we interact with each other. It changed our experience in stores, restaurants… We understand it. We worked really hard to restructure our business to accommodate as many people as possible while keeping everyone safe. The best way for people to help small businesses is to shop locally.

Instead of doing some random online workout, come to a local fitness facility and participate in our in-person or virtual training.  We all need to stay healthy both mentally and physically during this time period.  Working on improving your fitness level is a big part of that.

We are now reopened with minor changes in our schedule:
Monday - Friday 6 am - 2:15 pm  /   5 pm to 8 pm
Saturday 8 am - 12 pm
Sunday closed

Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?

We have moved our entire business online in addition to still operating our brick and mortar facility here in Ridgefield.  We do both private one-on-one training and semi-private training online, and in person at our facility.  It is so important to keep up a consistent fitness routine so we are delivering our product to our members wherever they feel comfortable, whether it’s in the gym or at home.

Our online Zoom training sessions have been fantastic. We cannot express how thankful we are for all our members who supported us while our facility was closed and continued to train online via Zoom. We are so lucky to have such a great community. We loved seeing our members supporting each other during the online sessions, it really makes it a fun hour for everyone involved and it means the world to us.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines

We made all the changes required by the state and the CDC to be able to reopen, but we didn’t stop there. We consulted with Ridgefield’s own Dr. David Pazer to make sure that we addressed everything we could before we re-opened. With all the feedback and suggestions from Dr. Pazer we made the following changes:

Since the biggest issue was the transmission of the virus thru the air, we decided to not only keep people twelve feet apart as recommended, but we have built personal pods separated by 10-foot vinyl partitions. We also upgraded our HVAC system with new filters to reduce the risk of spreading possible germs even more. We believe this is the best way for people to keep the appropriate social distance and still have access to all the equipment they would normally use in a regular gym. It also gives them the option of exercising with or without a mask and they don't need to worry about sharing equipment during their workout.

We have 16 sanitation stations and all the equipment is completely cleaned before each session starts.
