Three questions with Pippa Martin.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

I would like the community to know that I offer feet and facial Reflexology, as well as a variety of other holistic therapies that address the person as a whole....physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. My areas of specialty lie in anxiety, PTSD, chronic stress and tension, living with cancer, musculoskeletal pain, and digestive problems.  I often combine Massage, Aromatherapy, and/or Reiki with Reflexology. I am also licensed by the State of Connecticut.  Covid-19 has not only impacted many small businesses but our mental and emotional wellbeing in varying ways. Long COVID is an issue for many people who contracted this virus, who now suffer from some of the recurring symptoms, yet they no longer actually have COVID.  The impact of these symptoms can leave one debilitated on many levels. Reflexology, in particular, is very helpful in boosting one's wellbeing, and in helping to relieve the symptoms of many common health ailments.  The community can help small businesses like myself prosper by referring friends who are looking for a more holistic approach to their health and wellbeing, carried out in a nurturing environment so that we can build our business and continue to do what we love and are passionate about.

Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?

Yes...I handcraft a variety of organic, Botanical Infusions, combining herbs, flowers, spices, etc (many of which can be found in your kitchen cupboard) to support general wellbeing - for example, stress/tension, relaxation, digestive support, immune support etc.  These infusions include organic herbal teas, herbal/flower bath soaks, balms, salves, etc.  I make them up in small batches, and if putting together a custom blend, always do a consult first to become aware of any allergies to certain foods, spices, aromas, or possible contraindications. They can be purchased at my office, or by calling me to order (203 644 2176) or get further details.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines

In addition to the standard safety guidelines, I am adapting the way I work to keep us as safe as possible by offering mainly Reflexology, since the distance between my client and myself is further apart than a full body massage, etc. and I feel is safer for both of us,  and only requires the removal of shoes and socks.and will only see a maximum of two clients on any given day, until the current situation improves. I also take care of myself by being extra mindful of where I go, limiting trips to supermarkets, stores, etc. unless really necessary, in order to protect both myself and my clients from exposure to too many people. My aim is to make my clients feel safe and nurtured. I am fortunate to now work from a lovely office space within an extremely well-maintained building, which gives me extra peace of mind, and so far, my clients too!
