Guild of Artists Offers New Artist-in-Residence Program

Ridgefield Guild of Artists is pleased to announce the return of its Artist-in-Residence program for this year.  Beginning in mid-November and running through mid-June, the Guild will offer three 10-week residencies to three individual artists.  Call for Artists and prospectus with full details and requirements can be found on the website: www.rgoa.org, with a link to www.entrythingy.com for submissions.  This is a juried opportunity. It is open to all visual artists with interest in painting, mixed media, sculpture, pastels, photography, digital arts, etc.

The residency for each artist will culminate with a group AIR exhibition in the Guild’s gallery displaying the work they have created during their residencies.  The two-week show will be held in late June, 2021.  This will be an opportunity to showcase their art and give an artist's talk about their work and share how this AIR has influenced and progressed their artistic calling.

The deadline for entries is Saturday, October 31st at 11:59pm.  “We hope local artists will take advantage of this opportunity for the chance to become one of our three AIRs,” said Pam Stoddart, Executive Director of the Guild.  “There is a one-time fee of $100 for the chance to use a large upstairs studio at the Guild with slop sink and plenty of room for the most imaginative projects the artists can dream up.”

With the cancellation of in-person classes this winter due to the pandemic, this program became a viable alternative, in hopes that at least a few artists could take advantage of the available space.
