To help with lost revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center has received a $22,727.25 grant from CT Humanities.
CT Humanities awarded grants to 50 Connecticut museums from its COVID Relief Fund for Museums. The Connecticut State Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD)/Connecticut Office of the Arts (COA) provided the funding through an allocation to the state of Connecticut from the CARES Act.
“In these challenging times, we are grateful to organizations such as CT Humanities, which are focused on making sure that museums like KTM&HC get through the COVID crisis so that they will be able to continue to tell their stories when we’re finally able to put away our masks,” said Rhonda Hill, board president of KTM&HC.
“Connecticut’s museums are anchors in our communities. They give residents of all ages opportunities to engage with local history and culture and spaces for dialogue and connection,” Governor Ned Lamont said in a press release announcing the grants. “In addition, museums are part of the tourism and culture sector responsible for thousands of jobs. It is vital that we sustain Connecticut’s museums through this pandemic.”
