Town of Ridgefield Proclamation and Ribbon Cutting Welcoming Ruby's Little Pantry to Community

Last week, Ridgebury Congregational Church held a small ribbon-cutting ceremony welcoming Ruby's Little Pantry to town!

In the photos here, First Selectman Rudy Marconi is reading a Proclamation dedicated to Ruby Weiner, a young community member who has made it her mission to address the issue of childhood hunger - right here in Ridgefield.

The Proclamation (in part) reads:

Be it hereby known that the Town of Ridgefield expresses its congratulations and appreciation to Ruby Weiner for her passion to address childhood hunger and for her outstanding community service to the Town of Ridgefield.

With the help of some community partners, Ruby's Little Pantry was installed in Nature's Temptations parking lot by Clark Construction of Ridgefield!

Due to her hard work dedication to help fellow Ridgefielders, Ruby was awarded a Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation Youth Grant through Youth Service America (YSA). The grant supports Ruby Weiner in leading a community service project that addresses the issue of childhood hunger.

Ruby's Little Pantry is child-focused, with shelves designed to accommodate baby food jars, sealed diapers and wipes, baby toiletries, fragrance-free detergents, and more. A special area for “birthday boxes for kids” with cake mixes and canned frosting will also be created within this freestanding Little Pantry.

Understanding of Ruby's mission and vision, the folks at Clark Construction made this young philanthropist's vision a reality! In addition to Clark Construction, Ring's End, Wooster Hollow Cafe, and an anonymous donor contributed to this community project.
