Ridgefield Thrift Shop Needs Your Help!

Suggestions for Helping the Ridgefield Thrift Shop

Our loyal customers are praising the Thrift Shop for the awards made this year to seventy local non-profit organizations. (This was no small feat since we were closed for six months in 2020 and have been open for limited hours since September.) Soon we will announce the winners of the scholarship awards.

Our patrons wish us success and want us to be able to continue this practice for years and years to come. How can you help?

Donations: Please consider donating items that are in good, clean, working condition. Right now our greatest needs are in three areas: Men's seasonal clothing  (think spring and summer.) We need shorts, golf shirts, t-shirts and other light clothing.

Fabrics – if you are  a quilter, a seamstress, an upholsterer, we would love to have your remnants and left over bolts.

Flowers: We can use your dried or silk flowers whether loose or in arrangements.

Cash contributions

Speaking of donations

Donations can be dropped off in the back of the Shop (Bailey Avenue) on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday between 12 and 4 PM. Volunteers will help you bring your donations to the pods or from your trunks onto the back platform. (We must discard any items left outside these drop-off hours.) At the present time, we need:

Volunteering

We always need volunteers. The more people who volunteer, the more hours we can open, the more we can sell, and the more we can support the wonderful organizations of the greater Ridgefield area. We especially need cashiers. A volunteer can choose his or her time slots (Minimum for a trained volunteer is three four-hour days a month.). Drop into the store and pick up an application. If you are a teenager, we welcome you to join for after school and weekend work. We also welcome community members. You can sign up here.

or visit the Shop.

Patronizing the Shop

Visit us during the hours we are open or go online here. Winning bidders are given the special privilege of being allowed to shop on the pick-up day.

Cash Donations

Occasionally a kind person makes a cash contribution. Since we are an organization run 100 percent by volunteers, these donations make a difference.

Thank you for helping us help Ridgefield.
