Three questions with Christienne Coates, founder of Ridgefield Ophthalmology.
Why did you start your business?
I had been practicing ophthalmology with a wonderful group in Greenwich but wanted to work and serve in Ridgefield where my husband, Jack Hergenrother, and I were raising four children. My medical colleagues in Ridgefield and the surrounding areas are exceptionally trained and provide level the highest level of care to patients. I feel blessed to have been welcomed into this community.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
For the sake of brevity, because there are so many incredible Ridgefield businesses, I'll just name a few: Fairfield County Bank made starting up and continuing to practice as easy as possible, Ridgefield Glass, Rodier Flowers, and Karen Beck all helped beautify my office, Ridgefield Running Company and Susi Laura Massage help keep me and my family healthy and Bissell Pharmacy is always excellent and was a godsend to my practice during the pandemic.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I started providing telehealth visits for patients who needed care but could not come to my office emergently. I will continue this service, in addition to providing in-office visits, for patients who need it. I feel fortunate to have the best women working with me and we all strive to foster meaningful connections with our patients. In doing so, we hope to support and encourage growth in the community we feel so fortunate to live in.
