Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT JKC Designs!
Three questions with Jennifer Coleman, founder of JKC Designs.
Why did you start your business?
I started JKC Designs after graduating from the FIT with a degree in Interior Design because I believe that I can enhance the quality of life at home and at work for my clients through good design. Living and working in a well-designed and functional space can reduce stress, promote happiness and productivity. I love the design process and making a positive impact on the lives of my clients. I find such joy in learning about their lifestyle and helping them bring to life their wants and needs in a beautiful way.
What is your best-selling product/service?
I offer a wide range of services, I work on full home renovations as well as kitchens and bathrooms. In addition, furniture selections and space planning as well as paint consultations. Currently, kitchen and bathroom renovations have been in high demand! Full room redesigns have also been a top priority for many clients. People have been spending so much more time at home they have really started to rethink the way they use their spaces.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
JKC Designs has looked to many local resources! I believe in supporting each other and in this amazing Ridgefield community, there are many wonderful tradespeople and suppliers. Ridgefield Supply & Ridgefield Hardware, Creative Tile, and Venezia Marble have been wonderful partners to work with over the years.
HamletHub thanks Fairfield County Bank for making our Why Small Businesses Matter series possible!
