Three questions with Kelly Matregrano, founder of Kelly Marie Events.

Why did you start your business?

I have been in the event planning industry for over ten years and left my corporate event planning job when I had my first daughter Ella (now 4). It was too much travel for me at the time but I love event planning - it's my passion and what I'm good at.

I started my wedding and event planning company, Kelly Marie Events, a year or so after that and have built it slowly as a side business but as of this year, it's my full-time job! I love what I do and it's been amazing to own my own small business so far.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Wedding planning "day'-of" coordination. My Event Management planning package is my most popular. It's more than just the day of the wedding of course - I start working with my clients about 6 weeks out from their wedding date, help finalize details, do a venue walkthrough and work with all their vendors to coordinate the day and ensure it runs smoothly.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I work with many local vendors for wedding and event planning. On the Marc catering, Confetti LLC or Rebel Rose Florals for flowers, and I love planning weddings at the Keeler Tavern. It's one of the best venues in the area for smaller weddings in my opinion!
