The signage has been up for more than a month and it appears there is some activity inside the building. Many locals are asking: what's up with Jaipore Xpress on Bailey Ave.?
We asked Roshan Balan, who, together with Jeevan Pullan, is opening Jaipore Xpress at 19 Bailey Ave ... when can Ridgefielders expect to get their Indian food fix?
"We are awaiting final inspections to get the green light," Balan said today. "I know it's taking long, but we will surely be there soon," he added. While many are eager to know the opening date, Balan said, "We cannot decide on a date until the permits are in." He assured us that he will keep us posted!
While the restaurant will focus on takeout, we were told that there will a few seats inside as well.
With a sister location in Brewster - "Jaipore" - Ridgefield will be home to the "Xpress" version. "The menu will be a bit different," said Pullan. In addition to Indian classics like Tikka Masala, Pullan wants to introduce Ridgefield to some unique tastes of India. You can check out the Brewster location online here.
