Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

Three questions with Kate Kubisek and Barbara Baughman Realtors in Ridgefield.

Why did you start your business?

Honestly, we started in the business because we wanted to be of service to our community. We think real estate is exciting and dynamic! Many people often feel overwhelmed by the prospect of buying a home, selling their home, or investing in real estate. We are full-service real estate agents that make the process as smooth and seamless as possible to get you the best outcome possible. We work with trusted resources and help our clients navigate the sometimes complex world of real estate.

Our combined knowledge of the areas around us and commitment to providing only the best and most timely information to our clients stays our highest priority.

What is your best-selling product/service?

We hope to continue to grow and be a resource of confidence as trusted members of our community. Ridgefield is a dynamic town, bursting with character, culture, and opportunity; while remaining friendly and beautiful.

We feel genuinely blessed to have had wonderful years living and working in Ridgefield. One of the charms of Ridgefield will always be that it embraces the growth and change of smaller and larger businesses alike while exceeding in its standards of service to neighbors and joy of community.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Our office is on Main Street so we get the pleasure of having so many wonderful businesses around us that enable success in our endeavors. We use notecards from Squash’s for our mailings, cupcakes from The Cake Box for our clients, and advertising through St. Mary’s. We grab snacks and coffee from Tazza and lunch from Prime Burger or Village Pizza and Pasta to fuel us and treats for our clients (and ourselves) at Deborah Ann’s.

Ridgefield offers so much in the support and growth of small businesses - ours included! We are so grateful to be part of this wonderful community!

Barbara and Kate would like to nominate Anthony Cacciola, founder of AJC Construction - "Not only is his work perfection, when he is not on the job, he’s teaching and playing music and generously sharing his talents as a part of many towns and local charitable events!"
