Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT John R. Nigro Real Estate!

Why did you start your business?

I started my business here in Ridgefield in 2015 with a deep passion for guiding and assisting others through the challenges of the real estate transaction process. At the time, I knew so many people who wanted to enter the world of real estate investment or homeownership, but they did not know the best way to approach it or where to turn to for guidance.

The goal of my business - back then, now, and into the future - is to be a resource and helping hand through this challenging process. And with my love for the Town of Ridgefield, and the many friends and family I have right here in town, there was no better choice than starting my business here!

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I don't know where I'd be without so many helpful Ridgefield businesses! My clients speak wonderfully of their experience with many local loan officers based right here in town - Total Mortgage, Guaranteed Rate Affinity, Westport Mortgage, just to name a few. The attorneys at Hastings, Cohan, and Walsh LLP have always been a pleasure to work with within every real estate transaction.

I've also relied on Squash's for print and marketing supplies, Ridgefield Hardware for any building supplies, and Deborah Ann's to satisfy my frequent sweet tooth.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Absolutely! I am so grateful for every single client I work with and would be happy to continue growing and assisting more buyers and sellers in the future. However, the goal will always remain the same: To be a positive local resource for any Ridgefield resident to turn to for friendly, tech-based, and thorough service, right around the corner.

John would like to nominate Margaret Courtney at Touch of Sedona on Main Street to be featured next!
